Miniatures in Detail is the personal blog of a weekend modeller. It's a record of the varied modelling projects that I try and so is about all types of miniatures, scale modelling, boardgames and not to mention the wide range of things that provide inspiration for these projects.

I first began building model aircraft as a child in the 1980's, my first completed aircraft being an Airfix 1:72 scale Spitfire. In my teenage years my focus switched to fantasy, sci-fi figures and war-gaming before taking a break from the hobby due to other interests such as computer gaming.

After a break of about 15 years I returned to scale aircraft and military modelling in 2013 and soon after I began, slowly, painting fantasy and sci-fi miniatures again. Driven by a curiosity and desire to build models I already have numerous projects planned and in progress.

Through this blog I hope to share my experiences of returning to the hobby as well as an insight into my projects, the inspiration behind them and my thoughts on the wider hobby scene in general.
